3/8 Regionals were like a Thanksgiving meal that took tons of work and prep ...and then Bam, it's over. Only this time there's no sandwiches. Pioneer came close, missing a jumper for a tie with 20 seconds to play.. Jamestown was down 22-9 after the 1st quarter, lost by 19 and Frewsburg bowed 40-27. Congrats to all 3 for fine seasons. Sunday there are 2 more chances for Sec 6. Good Luck to Ripley and Olean.
3/5 Section 6 has a great shot in the AA. Jamestown is # 5 in the State Poll, #1 is out, #s 2,3 and 4 are is the other half of the bracket. Jamestown faces # 18 Greece Athena or # 10 Rush-Henrietta in Regionals. Those are the lowest ranked seeds Section 6 are facing in the 5 classes at Regionals. State polls looks good until you look closely. Pioneer the #1 A for quite a while, lost to AA #4 and dropped 8 spots to 9 then rose to 6. Shen that same AA, dropped only 6 spots after losing to small school Nichols the next night. Their 2nd loss, by the way. Shen has popped up to #2 while one loss Pioneer is a #4. Name recognition is important in many fields.
